MC & Selectress Mika Raguaa (Media Operator, Press, Decoration)
Sunny Friday Bio:
Passion and the Love to Caribbean Music together with
high ambitions build up di concept of Sunny Friday.
The name means the feeling you have after a long and stressful
week waiting for a nice weekend to feel nice again. The music contains a mixture of ruff and tuff conscious sets, big tunes in dancehall and the hottest and latest tunes straight
out of Trinidad, Tobago and other Caribbean Islands.
The Soundsystem was founded by Selecta Sensay and
MC & Selectress Mika Raguaa in April 2007 in
Oldenburg (near Bremen - North Germany). Both Members had a
longtime interest in Caribbean vibes and realized that getting together as a sound system will be a great idea
to spread out their vibes to the world. Mika took her
inspirations from her home base in South Germany and Sensay,
grown up in the north, just wanted to spread out their vibes.

After producing the first Mixes and presenting them on dis
Website in August 2007, Sunny Friday started to get its first experiences on stage in February 2008 at their new Party
"Mash up di Place - feel di vibes of Reggae, Dancehall
and Socamusic" in Oldenburg at Alhambra. At the first Bashment,
more than 600 people were already interested in their
development and enjoyed the first night, where the two
members played first time in front of a crowd.

From that day on, the two members started to work
hard on their selections, new mixes and the development of
the monthly Party. Di first corporations with other
Soundsystems
started in summer 2k8 with Heartical Sound
(Detmold, north-west Germany) and Real Rock Sound
(Schaffhausen, Switzerland) at an Open Air Festival
in South Germany. In Reward of their hard work, the
soundsystem established its own fan crowd all over Germany.
In September 2008 the Soundsystem moved to the east of
Germany to continue their work at a different place.
It was because Mika got the possibility to study in
Halle (Saale) (next to Leipzig).
Selecta Sensay decided to follow her to the city to
continue working together. At the Bashment "Mash up di Place"
new DJs were found to present the vibes, but
Sunny Friday was till end of 2009 still the regular Soundsystem,
that presented all three months their Selections.

In February 2009 a new Party was founded in Halle (Saale):
"Everblazin - Finest Blend of Reggae, Dancehall and Soca".
Many different DJs and Soundsystems, like Selekta Makoya
(Halle, D), Barney Millah (Berlin, D), Cosmophonic Sound
(Chemnitz, D), High Power Station (Görlitz, D), Ragganoia Sound (Gütersloh/Bielefeld, D), Chant Daun (Cottbus, D) and also
Real Rock Sound (Schaffhausen, CH) joined the party to
present their own vibes and show the diversity DJ-Culture and Selections.
The corporations and dates all over Germany bring new ideas
and inspirations. Since August 2007 nineteen Mixtapes were
already online released on dis website. They were downloaded
more than 88 000 times (NO JOKE!) from all places of the
whole world, including the United States, the caribbean
Islands and even Japan. What an honor!

In June 2009, di German Riddim Magazine released a review of the special Sunny Friday Mixtape "Acoustic Melody" (Mixed by Selecta Sensay) - including acoustic versions.

Another Special Mixtape "Back to di Future"
(Mixed by Mika Raguaa) followed in August 2009. It presents
the development of relick tunes in Reggae and Dancehall music.
But also many problems in the sound crew caused musical
differences: In November 2009 left Selecta Sensay Sunny Friday
to establish a new Project. With him, all his mixes disapeard
from dis website on his request.

Mika decided to continue the concept of Sunny Friday
to spread out more positive vibes to the world.
In January 2010 she was allowed to join first time a line-up in
one of the biggest Reggae Clubs in Germany. In Yaam (Berlin)
she was allowed to show her powerful Selection to the crowd.

In February 2010, together with the 2nd Birthday on the
stage of the Sound, she was joining the Charity Mixtape
“Love I Promote – vibes for Haiti” in cooperation DJ Mess
(Ghetto Youths, Slovakia) and D-One (Jam Masters and Herb-A-Lize-it, Neatherlands). The Mixtape was hosted by the famous producer
and Soundbwoy Bobby Konders (Massive B, New York - USA).
In May 2010 she released together with DJ Baccha from
Soca Revolution Sound (Sweden) the Soca Mixtape
"Europe gwaan Mad" - Fantastic Flamingos Vol. 3.
This Combination is part of di Berlin Carnival Mixtape-Series
to promote Soca Music all over Germany.

Selectress Mika established herself in the German Soundsystem
Scene and continued her work on new Selections and
some new vibes. The interest of seeing a Girl juggling and
MCing same time growed bigger and so she was allowed to
join Yaam in May 2010 again and played together with
“The Mighty Pow Pow Movement (Cologne, Germany)” the most
famous Soundsystem in Europe.
In June 2010 she had her first performance in the Netherlands together with Champion Sound (UK), DJ Spice (TnT, Grenada, NL)
and other DJs with caribbean origins - a real honor for her.

At Reggaejam Festival Bersenbrück (North Germany) she was allowed to mash up the camp side at the Mash up di place Crew tent. She took her chance and played 10 hours without a break at one day only for entertain the guests of the festival. In August 2k10 Selectress Mika had the possibility to play in the Netherlands at DJ Bootleg Café (Rotterdam) back again. At her Birthday on the 31st of August 2k10 she celebrates a big Birthday Bashment at Calabash Club in Berlin together with Red Sun (Universal Strugglaz, Berlin), Count Shortleg (SWS, Berlin) and Avalanche Sound (Meißen/Leipzig). On this date, her new Mixtape "Acoustic Melody Reloaded" has its official release.

The love to acoustic vibes shall be heard in the double mixtape. Her whole love and passion inside.
Also a new decade began in Summer 2k10: Her own little Radioshow on Asylumradio.nl starts at the beginning of September:

As an upcoming Selectress, Mika has the ambitions to
continue national and international cooperation and let as
many people know more about the Caribbean Culture.

More Mixes will follow and more Dates will be played
